A special episode of the roadshow marks the coronation of King Charles III. There will be a few antique gems from the archive including a pair of Queen Victoria’s knickers and a royal x-ray. There are also some new treasures including a sheet of penny black stamps, historic coronation china and some unlikely royal souvenirs from history, such as a 120-year-old bar of chocolate.

Raj Bisram is excited to hear the history behind an American baseball bat and mitt dating to the Second World War.

Antiques Roadshow comes from Roundhay Park in Leeds, where highlights include a rare Rolex ‘double red’ Sea-Dweller watch, a gold handbag that was left in a safety deposit box by an anonymous benefactor, and an album of rare Antarctic photos. Mark Hill admires a collection of art deco Goldscheider masks that divide opinion, while Wayne Colquhoun is delighted by carved wooden Mouseman tableware.

Antiques Roadshow is at Alexandra Gardens in Cardiff, where highlights include some valuable jewelry found at yard sales, a jacket made by the Ojibwe people in Canada and original illustrations of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. Wayne Colquhoun is enchanted by the history of a crib carved in the shape of a boat, while Geoffrey Munn is enchanted by a cameo brooch depicting two men and a pig.

Ronnie Archer-Morgan is amazed by a collector who’s amassed over one thousand stunning antique compact purses, and Gordon Foster gets his hands on a historic hurling trophy.

The roadshow looks back at some memorable items and finds out what happened next. From photo slides of young boys about to be shipped to Canada at the turn of the 20th century, to the story of a pioneering female pilot in World War II, the team learn what happened after the cameras stopped rolling. There are also lecture notes by JRR Tolkien in the author’s distinctive handwriting.

The team is back at Roundhay Park, where antiques include a rare Alfred Wallis painting, an unusual Fairyland Lustre bowl, a presidential newspaper and an intriguing cap made from celebrated racehorse Red Rum’s hair. Marc Allum is surprised to see James Bond’s Roger Moore modelling knitwear, while Clive Farahar compares a genuine first edition of Lady Chatterley’s Lover with a ‘pirated’ copy.

The roadshow returns to Glasgow, where finds include clothes by fashion designer Alexander McQueen, sporting memorabilia and antique silver treasures used in an ancient royal ritual that brings a huge valuation. Ronnie Archer Morgan finds a small but impactful piece of sculpture, while Marc Allum looks to the skies for a valuation of an important telescope linked to early astronomical exploration.

And there are plenty of historic Welsh treasures to be found, including an autograph book featuring a Tom Jones signature.

Paul Atterbury hears the bizarre tale of the London bus that ‘jumped’ over Tower Bridge as it was opening and finds out how a little girl got the chance to meet Winston Churchill on a flight.

Amongst the antique treasures on offer are early paintings by celebrated Scottish artist Jack Vettriano, and a collection of pages dating back to the earliest days of the printing press in the 15th century. Lisa Lloyd is intrigued to see a harmonica that once belonged to country music star Johnny Cash, while Marc Allum covets a record signed by members of the band U2 at the start of their career.

Fiona Bruce presents a special roadshow to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in June 1944. Filmed in Normandy and at Portsmouth’s D-Day Museum, she hears remarkable first-hand testimony from those who were there. Fascinating items used during the operation are seen, including the weather charts drawn up by Eisenhower’s chief meteorologist and an original dummy paratrooper.
