Po and Tigress rescue Shifu's father, Shirong, from the Croc Bandits. But, the father-son reunion doesn't go as expected due to Shifu's resentment towards his dad. Shirong gets abducted by Tong Fo and his bandits, as Shifu attempts to rescue his dad.

Shifu and Po's relationship is put to test, when the ghost of Master Oogway returns to the Jade Palace to mentor Po. However, they are both unaware that the ghost of Master Oogway is an evil Master named Junjie, who is trying to break Po and Shifu's relationship in order to rule Jade Palace.
