In the series opener, we meet Jonathan Smith, an angel who has been sent to help people on Earth. For his first assignment, he befriends residents at a retirement home. The administrator at Havencrest has a brother named Mark who is suspicious of Jonathan.

Jonathan Smith is an angel on a mission from God; accompanied by ex-cop Mark Gordon, whose troubled life Jonathan once helped turn around, the two travel the country guiding the lost and suffering back toward the Highway to Heaven.
