Kitty is not a Cat

It’s New Year’s Eve, and the cats are looking back on the year that has been. They reminisce about all the fun they’ve had, looking back particularly on the arrival of the most important member of their household, Kitty. When Kitty arrived, it was a shock to all of them, and the household was split as to who wanted her to go and who wanted her to stay. We all know who won out in the end.

When Kitty’s nightlight goes missing, Kitty's fear of the dark comes creeping out. Kitty creates big disturbances trying to keep everyone from leaving her in the dark, but the cats have no concept of being afraid of the dark. They try a few different less successful attempts at a new night light. The cats need to understand what Kitty is going through in order to help her move on from this fear.

After seeing an ad for the game console ‘Frog with a moustache’, King Tubby is convinced Kitty needs one. Once it’s in her hands, the game takes hold and Kitty is completely hooked, leaving the household missing their little friend. Elaborate plans are employed but they fail to get her back to the real world. It seems the solution might be much simpler than any of them ever imagined.

When a strange set of boxes arrive at the house, the cats pretty quickly realize Kitty has ordered herself a playhouse. The only issue is they don’t really know what a playhouse is. After much discussion the conclusion brought to them is that Kitty has moved out! The cats go through a whirlwind of emotions, but collectively they’re all devastated she’s gone.

Errands take all the cats out of the house except for Spook, who is left behind to look after Kitty. Spook goes in to panic mode and begins seeing danger everywhere, leaving poor Kitty with little to do that doesn’t scare him. When Spook is the one who gets injured, the roles are reversed and Kitty must try her best to keep Spook safe. Unfortunately for her, he does not make it easy.

Cats decide to buy Kitty a teddy bear. They wind up buying her a real grizzly bear from a man called Ted. Kitty loves her new ‘Ted’s bear’, almost as much as it loves music and dancing! The bear works its way through the house, destroying everything with its terrible dancing. Kitty and the cats decide the bear has to go. But how do you get rid of an 850-pound grizzly bear that just wants to party?

On a dark stormy night, in the middle of a blackout, Kitty and the cats gather around the fireplace, toasting marshmallows and telling scary stories. When a scary figure appears outside the window, the cats start believing their own stories! Chaos reigns as the cats fly into home defense mode. With things going from bad to worse, it’s up to Kitty to defend her home from the spooky figure outside.

The cats are taken aback when King Tubby’s mother arrives for a visit. She is a force to be reckoned with and it appears Tubby has been bending the truth in his mails to her. She is an old school tradi@onalist who has no @me for the madness that is King Tubby’s domain, let alone the inept “servants” who live with him. King Tubby begs the household to play along while his mother is around.

Kitty loves music, but she’s never tried to learn an instrument. So when the cats discover she’s been teaching herself the bass guitar, they are over the moon. Kitty is only interested in playing one note, over and over. The cats decide to broaden her musical horizons, but they disheartening her. Kitty gives up trying, until an ally teaches her that music can be whatever she wants it to be.

When Kitty sneaks a look at Ming’s diary, she discovers his feelings towards her were not always kind. Flashback to when Kitty was new to the household and Ming and Thorn tell her she's going on a holiday. Kitty finds herself taken to the tip where she is dumped. Lucky for Kitty, an eager Timmy Tom pops out of her suitcase and together they try to make the most of this hazardous and smelly place.

As enseña a los gatos lo importante que es el papel que tanto gusta a los humanos, y sin el que ellos no pueden pagar la factura de la casa, al ver a Tripón y a los demás gatos que usan el dinero del baúl que está bajo llave como simple papel, y parte del cual se lo han dado a los Stinkleton.

Kitty se comporta como la reina de la jungla después de ver un documental sobre leones y pone la casa patas arriba y a los gatos de los nervios. Tripón, disfrazado de león, pasea con Kitty por la ciudad para convencerla de las excelencias de la vida de los gatos sobre la de los leones.

Es Halloween, y Kitty llega a casa con un montón de chucherías que empieza a comer sin parar, y sin dejar que nadie se acerque a las golosinas. Los gatos, preocupados, intentan que coma otra cosa, pero Kitty no parece querer otro alimento que no sean golosinas.

Kitty se presenta en un estudio de tv. para participar en un concurso de baile. Los gatos acuden con sus instrumentos de música a rescatar a Kitty de los sinsabores que produce la fama y de que pase el resto de su vida dentro de una torre de marfil, pero terminan todos actuando, y con un gran éxito.

Los gatos viven la música a tope, hacen tanto ruido que los vecinos contratan a Bestia, un perro pequeño, pero resuelto, para que se ocupe de ellos. Bestia, que es un profesional, avisa a los gatos de que trabaja bajo un contrato que estipula conseguir cero decibelios; vamos, que ni respirar.

Cuando Pétalo se da cuenta de que su amabilidad ilimitada y cansina molesta al resto de gatos, ofendida, opta por la rebeldía, a la que acompaña con modales rudos y antipáticos, que pronto alarma a todos. Pero ser borde, para alguien que por naturaleza no lo es, cuesta mucho trabajo.

Kitty sorprende a Miley en el refugio particular donde esta compone su propia música electrónica con instrumentos viejos y raros, de los que se siente muy orgullosa. Kitty, fascinada por su estilo, imita en todo a Miley, quien se irrita por ello, y porque reciba los elogios de los otros gatos.

Kitty, con el amuleto de cristal desechado por Ming por inservible, hipnotiza a una mariquita, a un gusano y a un caracol, y, accidentalmente, a Stan, el vecino, que se cree un gato e incordia más que antes. Kitty y los gatos intentan volver a Stan a su estado natural, quien escapa por una ventana.

Una encantadora rata engatusa a Kitty para convencerla con su espectacular bailoteo de que deje de querer ser un gato para ser una rata, y para que robe objetos de los gatos y a cambio le enseñará a bailar. Enterados los gatos, llaman a Chita, el gato que tiene un medio infalible de echarla.

Kitty hace un adivinador de papel con el que va viendo el futuro. Cansada de ver malos presagios, trata de deshacerse de él sin conseguirlo. Los gatos no entienden muy bien por qué Kitty se pasa todo el rato con el adivinador, con lo bien que se va por la vida sin apenas preocupaciones.

Como las cápsulas del tiempo son perfectas para conservar recuerdos, Tripón ordena que cada uno coja un objeto, grabe un vídeo explicando por qué es especial y a continuación lo meta en la cápsula. As se da cuenta de que todas las anécdotas de los gatos tienen en común a Kitty.

Kitty expulsa dos bolas de pelo como haría cualquier gato que se baña lamiéndose. Tripón explica en qué consiste la higiene humana y por qué Kitty necesita aprender a bañarse como los humanos y no como los gatos. Decididos a que Kitty se bañe, los gatos entran por primera vez en el aseo de la casa.

La madre de Tripón se presenta de improviso en la mansión y al ver el comportamiento de Kitty, que le parece similar al de un gato callejero, quiere corregirlo con lecciones que la conviertan en una niña formal. Luego presenta sus logros en una gala de celebración con resultados inesperados.

Kitty no descansa por la noche. La música y los juegos de los gatos son demasiado tentadores para ella como para no unirse a ellos; pero su carácter se está agriando por falta de sueño. Preocupados, los gatos prescinden de sus siestas y se esfuerzan por mantener despierta a Kitty durante el día.

Kitty, con el apoyo de As, convence a los gatos, al principio un poco reacios, de que tienen que celebrar el cumpleaños del rey Tripón. Los preparativos para la fiesta sorpresa, entre los que está una piñata a tamaño natural de Tripón, son interpretados por este como un motín para derrocarle.
