In 1989, the young Crown Prince and his younger brother are shown as individuals with very different personalities. Time quickly passes and it reveals that the older brother, Lee Jae Ha, has not changed at all.

The team will train for 4 weeks prior to the competition, but it will split its training equally in North and South Korea. Hang Ah becomes Jae Ha's trainer, but a recent confession will make that relationship more difficult.

Kim Hang Ah plays games by giving Lee Jae Ha the silent treatment, but she later reveals her intentions for joining the team. When bombs are found on equipment that was brought into the North Korean facilities, the UN comes in to further investigate the matter.

Lee Jae's poor sense of judgment drives him to create two different conflicts. However, a bond between him and Hang Ah forms as they start on a quest to fix both situations.

When training concludes, Lee Jae Ha pulls one more prank before heading back to South Korea. News hits that Kim Hang Ah is a bridal candidate, but Lee Jae Ha hopes to fix the problem by declaring his love for her.

Unfortunately, Lee Jae Ha's plan proves itself to be conterproductive and ends up hurting Kim Hang Ah. Though he comes to realize that he truly has feelings for he, Kim Hang Ah is planning to seek out revenge on him.

The King and Kim Hang Ah's father decide to officially announce the engagement after finding her and Lee Jae Ha kissing. Growing more and more frustrated with South Korean customs pushes Kim Hang Ah to visit the king and his wife.

The king suddenly passes away and it forces Lee Jae Ha into the position of the country's only leader. While he learns to handle the royal duties, Chief Secretary Eun suspects that the king's death was not an accident.

Upon further investigation, evidence of foul play is found near the place of the king's death. After being put through a public hearing, Kim Hang Ah expresses her frustration and is told to return to the North.

As Kim Hang Ha returns to North Korea, the Queen Mother expresses her disappointment in Lee Jae Ha's decision to end the engagement. After gaining access to his brother's diary, Lee Jae Ha discovers the truth about Club M's involvement in the training camp attacks.

After her trip to the hospital, it is revealed that Hang Ha's pain was caused by a miscarriage. While this news is able to motivate Jae Ha into action, John Mayer has hatched a diabolical plot to destroy him.

Jae Ha sends a series of gifts to Hang Ah, causing her to wish to return to him. Jae Ha and his delegation are attacked, leaving him wide open to be taken hostage.

Upon opening the box, Bong Gu finds a video that shows Jae Ha and his girlfriend in a deadly confrontation. Jae Ha and Hang Ah announce their participation in the WOC and end up drawing the US as opponents.

Shi Gyung is able to hold Bongbong at the royal palace, but finds it difficult to keep her detained. Jae Ha and Hang Ah have a dilemma on their hands when Kang Suk gets them into a brawl with the US team.

The Korean united team finds itself up against an impressively strong US team in the WOC. In order to win the first round, the Korean team decides that it must take extreme measures.

Following the success of the engagement party, Hang Ah learns to adjust to her new life through the queen mother's volunteer work. Unbeknownst to others, Jae Ha gets a secret email from Club M.

Although Hang Ah and the queen mother are held captive in China, Hang Ah stays behind so she can save the queen mother. In the mean time, Jae Ha's hypnosis reveals a terrible truth regarding the day of the king's death.

Shi Gyung and Jae Ha have grown tired of John Mayer's crimes and create a plan to ensure that justice is served. However, all of their planning may not prepare them for what is soon to come.

While they manage to capture John Mayer, he is able to call in a few favors and is eventually released. The overall mood intensifies as North Korea, South Korea and the United States prepare themselves for battle.

Jae Ha and Hang Ah try to bring unity between North and South Korea and plan to get married. John Mayer is held accountable for his crimes and has to face prosecution.
