On a dark and stormy night during the last bitter days of the Second Anglo-Boer War, a seriously wounded Boer General is nursed by Anna, a herbalist of considerable powers. Her seductive, otherworldly but bloodless daughter, Annie, is also fighting for survival but needs a lot more than her mother’s concoctions and care to keep going.
