Hale, an American astronaut, dies and is reincarnated on a mysterious planet called Riverworld. A mysterious race of hooded beings oversees the inhabitants who have all lived and died on Earth, but they ended up on this planet instead of the afterlife. Hale leads a revolt and joins with others on a large boat to explore this mysterious new world.
