Jar Dwellers SOS

Sophie helps Crunch enter the Silly Sausage lookalike contest but the prize goes to Barka wrapped in a frankfurter colored curtain. Van Riceberger tracks them down with his new helmet Jar Tracker but wrongly accuses Silly Sausage of being a Jar Dweller and attacks him mid broadcast. Silly is saved by Crunch and becomes his number one fan.

During an S.O.S lesson on camouflage, the Jar Dwellers give Sophie and David the slip and escape to the school's annual Halloween Fair to try out the stalls and the activities. Van Riceberger's latest Jar Tracker is set up over the Dunking Booth but it backfires on him when Crunch hits the bullseye and lands the lazy eyed professor in the drink.

Ooble thinks Sophie's Kite-a-thon is the perfect opportunity to realise her dream of flying and soaring with the birds, but soon discovers after take-off she's petrified of heights. David launches Crunch to get the panicking Ooble safely back to the ground as Van Riceberger's flying Jar Tracker battles David's kite for air supremacy.

David enters a talent contest in the hopes of winning first prize-a cruise around the world- as Sophie thinks this might be their best chance to get the Jar Dwellers back home. Not wanting to go back to the wild, the Jar Dwellers set out to sabotage David's magic act, but end up putting themselves at risk when Van Riceberger enters the contest so he can win the prize.

Talk of cloning and Chang's latest money making scheme-selling homemade bonsai trees-has Barka believing that one of the bonsais is actually his baby. The Jar Dwellers rescue the "baby" but leave a tell-tale piece of Barka's bark behind, and when Van Riceberger finds it, he makes plans to extract the DNA from it so he can make his own Jar Dweller.

It's snowing and the cave is freezing, so Ooble scares Crunch to make him squirt warm wool for her and Barka to wrap themselves in. Sophie realizes that keeping them in a controlled environment has stopped them from getting their winter coats. But all David cares about is an ice-skating competition that he wants Sophie to join him in.

Barka's sleepwalking puts Crunch and Ooble under threat of his massive feet. This is Barka's annual migratory impulse so Sophie takes the gang into the woods for a camping trip to monitor his movements. Barka goes wandering in his sleep and gets paralysed by one of Chang's signs. The others find him but have to move him before Van Riceberger orders Chang to chainsaw him down.

Sophie refers Barka's case of itchy and scratchy skin to the BigBook and learns they need to immerse him in water. At the river they avoid Van Riceberger but Barka falls in. Sophie and David borrow Chang's canoe to follow him, Ooble and Crunch, who have dived in after Barka to save him. They survive the river, the rapids and the Jar Tracker but get a heartfelt surprise at the logging factory.

Not long after David whets the Jar Dwellers appetite for the touring circus a strange allergic reaction colours Barka and Crunch's noses red to match Ooble's. They sneak out of the cave to check the big tent and on arrival the Ringmaster thinks they're the new clowns he's been waiting to sign on. The Jar Dwellers get the job, love the limelight and don't want to go back to the cave.

The Jar Dwellers tire of their healthy diets and succumb to Chang's TV ad for his new deep-fried pizza. But the next morning, they all wake with weird side effects - weirdest of all, Crunch becomes intelligent. Sophie is desperate to find the reason behind it. Crunch reasons they need one more try and reorder the pizza. They get even worse.

The Jar Dwellers accidently wreck David's painting masterpiece. They feel guilty and enter it into the school art competition without him knowing. Sophie takes credit when the art teacher declares the painting a work of genius but on close inspection Van Riceberger reacts violently to it and suspects the Jar Dwellers had a hand in it.

To allay Sophie's concern about her ability to cook, Ooble takes inspiration from Professor Chef's TV cooking show which is another Chang enterprise. Elsewhere, Van Riceberger confiscates David's remote-controlled car and uses it to create a homing jar tracker out of Professor Chef's barbecue.

When Van Riceberger gets hit on the head, he wakes up believing that he is his nasty ancestor Van Riceberger the Third. Chang enlists David and Sophie to help him shock Van Riceberger back into normality while the demented Van Riceberger goes hunting for the Jar Dwellers with a potent air balloon Jar Tracker. Despite seeing them, nearly catching them, and threatening to eat them.

David desperately wants to win a School competition to find the most unusual pet and with the JDs. Sophie scoffs at the idea, but then agrees as she wants to prove she can beat Fontana and her prizewinning Chihuahua, and show the other students that she can be fun. Sophie works the JDs too hard and they refuse to compete, so she convinces each of them she's their best friend.

Van Riceberger sets a new assignment for Sophie and the rest of the science class: look after these chicken eggs and monitor them until they hatch. But Ooble feels left out when Sophie blows her off in order to focus on the egg. When the egg hatches early, though, Barka and Crunch think that it's an alien.

Spring is affecting the JDs in different ways but Ooble seems immune until she mistakes David's ball for her egg. Unhappy with the cave she sets out to find the perfect spot to build a nest and raise her baby. Van Riceberger builds a steam driven, Chang assisted Jar Tracker that is hot on her trail.

Crunch feels guilty for endangering the other Jar Dwellers so he runs away from home. He is soon caught by Dog Catcher Chang and taken to the pound. A spasm from the dog trap points Van Riceberger to a Jar Dweller being at the dog pound. After failing to get into the pound legitimately, Van Riceberger hides inside a RoboDog Jar Tracker until David causes a riot and all the dogs escape.

A Silly Sausage trilogy is too much of a temptation for the Jar Dwellers who want to watch all the movies. Sophie locks them in the cave to keep them safe, but they use a secret exit through an old well to escape. Turns out Van Riceberger is a Silly Sausage fan too and it's soon chaos in the movie theatre as the creatures brave the snack bar, sneak a look at the movie and avoid Van Riceberger.

Sophie always babysits when there's a staff meeting at the school, but jealous of her job, Chang switches a DVD for a real horror movie and Sophie is fired by Van Riceberger. Convinced Chang planned it all to steal her job, Sophie and Ooble do some scaring of their own to get her job back. A crazed vacuum cleaner Jar Tracker attacks Van Riceberger and Chang who end up trashing the Big House.

The Jar Dwellers and David hijack Van Riceberger's rocket and head to the wild blue yonder. On landing, the JDs are convinced they've landed on a new planet. David explains they are still on earth at a space themed mini golf course, but no one believes him.

A heat wave gives Sophie an idea for a new S.O.S program - how to locate water and stay cool-and the best place to do that according to Barka's divining tail is in Van Riceberger's kiddy pool. Unfortunately the pool's a trap, rigged with a potent rubber ducky Jar Tracker, so Ooble, Crunch, Barka, David and Sophie start an all-out water fight to help them escape

Ooble uses her flu to milk the other Jar Dwellers and Sophie for sympathy. Crunch and Barka catch her faking her symptoms but Sophie dismisses their claim. While screaming at them, Ooble loses her voice. Her used tissues set off Van Riceberger's latest germ chasing Jar Tracker and lead him to Crunch and Barka.

Ooble blames Crunch and Barka for stealing her boomerang so Sophie and David borrow Van Riceberger's lie detector to discover the truth. When the kids return the lie detector, and after Chang fuses out the machine, Van Riceberger gets a great idea to test each student to see if they have any knowledge of the Jar Dwellers existence.

Sneaking food for the Jar Dwellers is sometimes difficult, so Sophie plans her latest S.O.S.: growing your own food in the glasshouse. But Barka's sap and slurry make the fruit and vegetables grow super-fast so there is too much food. After being enlisted to guard the kitchen and catch the Stinky Cheese thief, Chang harvests the glasshouse and takes it to Van Riceberger.

The Jar Dwellers fight over their sections in the cave and Sophie decides to just let them sort it out themselves. But this is serious and Ooble, Crunch and Barka split up and leave the safety of the cave to find their own new territories. Now they're out in plain sight and Van Riceberger has a souped-up radioactive jar tracker that will never run out of power.
