Britain's Most Scenic Counties: Norfolk & Suffolk

Adventure begins as day breaks in Norfolk, where early risers continue trades that have lasted more than a thousand years. Meanwhile, on one of the last Cromer Crab Boats, Captain Mathews aims to catch dinner for 100 wedding guests at his restaurant.

Scenic views abound as Lifeboatman Chris Taylor takes an incredible trek over a 22-mile-long chalk ridge, nicknamed Norfolk's Great Barrier Reef. Elsewhere on the coast, the "Lucy Lavers" takes tourists on trips around the harbor.

At Cromer Beach, surfing instructor Duncan Borrett leads a group into the wild North Sea. Elsewhere, paleontologist Dr. David Waterhouse unearths fossils dating back millions of years, and painter Ed Cooper hopes to capture the special Suffolk light.

Farmer Mark Evans gears up to welcome hordes of visitors to see the millions of tulips on his land. At Thetford Forest, Geoff Scrivens sets up two giant tepees for a wedding, and a restored fishing vessel prepares to set sail along the coast.

Bill Pinney rows out onto Orford Ness to dredge up oysters to serve at his restaurant. Hockham hosts its annual Horn Fair, an event that's been running for nearly a millennium. Near Sutton Hoo, volunteers rebuild the Anglo-Saxon burial ship.

High above Great Yarmouth's golden mile, Doug and Mark inspect a 91-year-old wooden roller coaster. In the Norfolk Broads, rangers Adam and Jess attempt to keep tourism and nature balanced in Britain's largest protected wetlands.
