Three young women disappear over the course of a year after nights out partying in the Claremont suburb of Perth, and the police form Taskforce Macro to investigate a possible serial killer on the prowl.

A decade after Sarah Spiers went missing and Taskforce Macro was disbanded, the next generation of forensics officers reopen the case with a new focus: follow the evidence, not the suspect. Detective Wyatt fights hard to be part of the investigation.
