McGarrett's probe uncovers similarities between this kidnapping and another in the past, and he traces the operation to a "legitimate" attorney who is operating a child-stealing racket from the Mainland.

    Patty Duke and Carol Lawrence are the guest stars as McGarrett goes after the untouchable king-pin of narcotics traffic in the islands. Toni (Patty Duke), an underworld fringe character, agrees to turn state's evidence against the mobster on one condition -- that McGarrett must release her from prison and arrange her wedding to the father of her unborn child.

    Dr. Eric Fowler, a psychiatrist, becomes the victim of an extortion effort by a clever paranoiac found too disturbed to treat. The person, an unseen but apparently omnipresent electronics wizard calling himself Cerberus, the Hound of Hell," threatens Dr. Fowler and his patients through a series of ingenious electronic plants.

    Richard Basehart plays the mastermind behind a 40 million-dollar conspiracy to rob the Honolulu Stock Exchange. Basehart, as Murdock, senior partner in a stock exchange firm, conceives a daring and seemingly foolproof plan to rob the exchange. But a succession of murders which were not in Murdock's plan puts McGarrett on the trail of the conspiracy.

    Nehemiah Persoff plays an obscure shopkeeper who calls himself Peter Winkler and becomes the catalyst in a plot to assassinate a high level Iron Curtain defector. McGarrett becomes interested in Winkler when the shopkeeper is involved in a minor incident and no proof can be found that a "Peter Winkler" does, indeed, exist.

    February 13, 1973
    Nina Foch plays a grandmother whose only grandchild is kidnapped by two ineffectual crooks. As McGarrett and his Five-O forces attempt to move up the mountain where the child is being held, the kidnappers lay down a withering fuselage of rifle fire.

    A travel agent operating gambling junkets is slain as a warning to his partner to stop competing for the gambling business. The surviving agent, a former bookie, attempts to carry on the business but finds matters complicated when one of the clients is killed and McGarrett and his Five-O unit start getting closer to the truth.

    McGarrett attempts to crack an extortion ring preying on small businessmen. The detective's investigation seems to run into a roadblock when it is learned that one of the gang members is courting the daughter of Chin Ho, one of McGarrett's trusted deputies, and that they appear headed for a wedding.

    A cat burglar strikes at the home of a socially prominent island family, setting off a fast-moving series of events that lead to a death. McGarrett's search for clues takes him to a rundown neighborhood where an unseen assailant starts taking shots at him.
