Roadkill's Junkyard Gold

Steve Magnante has been tasked with a new mission by David Freiburger himself.

Steve's back in Fresno, California, turning up buried treasures and looking for potential projects for the gang at Roadkill. Along the way, he has some lessons on engine cooling and big-block history to share.

Steve's at Desert Valley Auto Parts in Phoenix, and strikes gold in the form of a rusty 1964 Ford Galaxie XL. The next stop for that car will be over at Roadkill. He also uncovers some muscle from Chevy, Oldsmobile and Buick.

Steve battles the dense overgrowth at a junkyard in South Carolina to uncover a Pontiac that needs its cylinder head examined, a Plymouth worthy of the Blues Brothers and a Ford whose doppelganger was Gone in 60 Seconds.

Roadkill has Steve on a mission to find something small that can handle a big engine. He's in Parma, Idaho, picking through Vegas, Pintos, Colts and other cars born during Detroit's reaction to the '70s oil crisis.

L&L Classic Auto in Idaho is packed with things that go fast. Steve uncovers a pair of GM's greatest muscle cars and two Interceptors that could have chased them down. He also finds a Pontiac that may be Roadkill's next rescue.

Steve heads back to Turner's Auto Wrecking in Fresno, California, to uncover more treasures. From a legendary lineup of Rancheros, a '68 Torino GT, a '76 Vega and more, he's looking for something the Roadkill guys can't pass up.

Steve is in Shelby, North Carolina, visiting Sundell Auto Specialties, strict purveyors of GM muscle. He uncovers a Malibu M80 and an Oldsmobile Rallye 350 before finding what could be an original "Great One," a 1964 GTO.

Steve explores a pair of workhorses, a 1952 Chrysler Crown Imperial limo and a handyman's 1957 Chevy 150 station wagon. He then moves on to ponies that are a little more fun, a 1965 Malibu SS and a 1971 Plymouth Road Runner.

Steve Magnante is at Desert Valley Auto Parts’ Casa Grande, Arizona, lot discovering rust free, but dusty sheet metal. His finds include a 1958 Chevy Delray, a Canadian-built 1966 Studebaker Wagonaire and a 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T.
