On a southern island torn between tradition and modernity, three women with very different personalities join forces to save their skin. Gilda is a prostitute, Olivia, beautiful and elegant, arouses the envy of the village, and Crocetta, a poor unfortunate with the reputation of bringing bad luck. The three women are involved in a murder and a police commissioner begins to suspect them.
