The Accident

Gabriel Cauvy, his wife Rebecca, and their daughter Luna lead a peaceful life in Sainte-Lune, a quiet coastal town in Brittany. When Rebecca dies in a car accident, his whole world comes crashing down. Suicide or accident? Gabriel rejects both possibilities. Especially since there's a mysterious figure lurking in the shadows.

At the police station, Solène catches an intruder trying to steal Rebecca's file. Meanwhile, under threat from the mysterious stranger in the Mercedes, Iris has only three days to find the 60,000 euros Rebecca owed her. Luna overhears a strange conversation.

Anne's body is pulled from the harbor. Was it an accident? Solène has her doubts. As Gabriel continues to investigate Rebeca's death, he finds Iris and Denis's behavior puzzling. On top of that, a man named Alain suddenly appears on his wife's cell phone call log.

When Gabriel finds the 60,000 euros among his wife's belongings, he realizes she was involved in some kind of illegal activity. Just as he manages to get Iris to confess, the mysterious man in the Mercedes contacts him: if he doesn't get his money back, he'll come after Luna.

Pascal saves Gabriel from the flames, but he can't escape his wrath: he's found forged documents among Gabriel's belongings and orders him to leave the company. Destouches is found dead in his shop. Solène summons Gabriel to the crime scene, convinced that he's hiding something from her.

Théo's murder has reignited the case. The initial evidence seems to point to Pascal, who undoubtedly wanted to silence him. Gabriel hopes that recent events will convince Solène to resume the investigation, but she now seems to believe it was an accident. Gabriel must continue his fight alone.
