In the two-part series premiere, high school teacher Jake Epping (JAMES FRANCO) is tasked with traveling back in time to stop the JFK assassination.

Jake decides to make a difference by saving the family of his friend Harry Dunning (LEON RIPPY), whose family was murdered by Harry’s father, Frank (JOSH DUHAMEL).

Finding all ally in his quest (GEORGE MacKAY), Jake moves to a small town near Dallas to teach and constructs a double life - spying on Lee Harvey Oswald (DANIEL WEBBER).

While romance blossoms between Jake and Sadie (SARAH GADON), the conspiracy of secrets deepens surrounding the unpredictable Lee Harvey Oswald. Has Jake put his new love in danger?

When Sadie's life is threatened, Jake has to make a terrible choice, as everything begins to fall apart for Jake struggling to live two lives - as teacher and time traveler.

As the gathering threats continue to build in Dallas, Jake must take drastic action to establish the full dimensions of the threat to Kennedy, when he's hit with an unexpected death.

While Kennedy is still on a collision path with his assassination, Jake is concerned that he might not have changed things enough in the past to alter the course of events.

The Past tries to keep Jake from reaching Dealey Plaza in the finale. If he fails, it could spell out his death. If he succeeds, he might lose everything he's known.
