In the hope of a better life, Haydar and Meryem sell all their possessions to make a risky escape with their son Mehmet Ali from a poor Kurdish village to wealthy Switzerland. But the journey, which is full of false promises, smugglers and dangerous mountain passes, presents the family with a painful test between dreams and survival.
