Life on a Knife's Edge

For his first ridge route attempt, Alex picked what he thought would be an easier mountain range. He quickly realizes how naive he is when it comes to choosing terrain and time of the year to hike.

After getting in over his head on the last range, Alex decides to go with the easiest of the ranges he has made routes for. On a topographical map, the Snowcrest Range looks mellow compared to the rest. Maps can often be misleading though.

Feeling confident after his last attempt, and with the season coming to a close, Alex decides to take on a bigger range. The Absaroka's hold a special place in his heart since he lives at their base, but he knows this will be no walk in the park.
