Academy Award winner Burt Lancaster stars as Sergeant Mike Kincaid, a soldier whose disrespect for authority has repeatedly landed him in the brig. During one of his stints in jail, Kincaid learns of a band of Arab tribesmen who plan to attack the fortress city of Tarfa. Escaping with a band of renegade Legionnaires, including Captain Delgado (Gilbert Roland), Kincaid leads aganist the attack.
