Most Haunted

An impressive Tudor manor erected in the 1530s, Speke Hall was a clearing house for foreign priests entering the country. However, the site's history predates the current house by hundreds of years, with evidence of former buildings being incorporated in the manor walls. The team attempts to summon Mary Norris, who haunts the house by walking the halls searching for her child.

Built in 1820, the site was home to both a jail and courthouse serving all of Argyll. Over 6,000 people were tried and held in the prison's eight cells. Now a museum, visitors report many ghostly incidents, including whispering, clanking chains and dark figures cowering in the shadows. The team has one night to investigate these stories, but who will visit them during the late-night vigils?

Layer Marney Tower was the creation of Lord Marney who died in 1523. His son, John, took over the tower's construction. The building's scale is a testament to the one-upmanship of the time, with members of the royal court encouraged to build bigger properties to assert their status. Thought to be haunted by its former residents, who will the team meet during their investigation?

The Gaumont Cinema stands on the site of Toxtheth's old Picturedome that was demolished in 1931. Now derelict, the "Most Haunted" team investigates Gaumont Cinema's stories of suicide, mysterious dark figures and haunting lights, as they attempt to discover the truth behind this location.

The castle has been the seat of the Dukes of Argyll since the beginning of the 15th century. The present castle is the third to have been built on the site, and its guests have included King James V and Mary Queen of Scots. With stories of harp music being heard, a grey lady walking the halls and sightings of serving staff in ancient garb, there is plenty of ghostly activity for the team.

Hidden in the woods is a small unimposing bungalow with a big secret: beneath its ramshackle floors lies a three-floored bunker complex in which upwards of 600 people would have been confined behind blast-proof doors in the event of a nuclear attack. It is said to be haunted; what lies in store for the "Most Haunted" team above and below ground?

One of the oldest buildings in Aberdeen, the Tolbooth dates to 1616. An earlier building existed on the site and dates to 1393, which was used as an area for collecting tolls for goods. One of the jail's most famous inmates was the "Fittie Witch," who was tried for witchcraft. With the cells still holding the spirits of their past residents, who will make their presence known to the team?

Home of the Cromer crab, the resort was made famous in the early 19th century when Norwich's rich bought up property in town. A pier has stood on the beach since 1391 and opened officially to the public in 1901. Over the years, visitors have reported seeing men in medieval rags and restless boatmen that still roam the shoreline. Who will visit the team during their investigation?

The castle's history dates to the late 12th century when Henry II was on the English throne. The castle remained a residence until 1976 when it was given to the National Trust. The castle's ghosts are said to include everyone from prisoners to a princess, but who knows who will visit during the "Most Haunted" investigation?

Built in 1702, this building was home to the father of immunology, Edward Jenner, whose work helped eradicate smallpox. A famous photo taken in the museum's attic is believed to depict the ghost of Jenner himself. Will he or the other ghosts said to haunt this place make themselves known to the "Most Haunted" team during their investigation?
