George Burns stars as God when He comes to Earth, business card in hand, but has a hard time convincing his chosen messenger Jerry Landers (John Denver), an assistant manager of a local supermarket, that he is really God. Once convinced, Jerry has a hard time convincing his family and the rest of the world that he hasn't gone insane.
