Blood Ties

When ex-cop turned private investigator, Vicki Nelson, happens upon the scene of a terrifying murder, she's she's hired by the victim's girlfriend to prove that her boyfriend was killed by a vampire. Despite her doubts, as Vicki begins investigating, she finds puzzling evidence that there might in fact, be some supernatural angle to the crime.

Murders believed to be committed by a vampire turn out to be the work of a servant demon of Astaroth who is being summoned by Norman, a nerd seeking power.

At a moody, voodoo themed bar, Vicki meets Angelique, a beautiful, French-accented young woman who wants Vicki to find her brother, Royal. Angelique figures Royal is mixed up with some bad people and it's for this same reason that she can't go to the police. And when Vicki is attacked by a hulking, undead man, she knows something supernatural is at play.

Vicki is visited by Emily, an elderly lady who daughter has just been killed violently. She wants Vicki to find Steve, her ex-son in law and father of her grand-daughter, Sara. He ran out on them years ago and left no forwarding address.

Vicki is visited by Barbara Stamp, a widow who is suspicious of her late husband's death. Though Fred's official cause of death is heart attack, Barbara believes he was murdered and she has a tape of the threatening phone call. The only person she can think of that hated Fred was an old client, Magnus O'Connor, who was found guilty of murder and sent to prison. The only thing is he's dead.

Vicki looks into several murders in an affluent neighborhood. It could be the gardener, an incubus, or a cuckholded husband summoning Mageara, one of the Greek furies.

As Vicki and Henry hunt the sewers for a Windigo, an ancient native spirit, Mike is seduced to betray Henry by Javier, a self-professed vampire hunter.

Vicki and Mike must overcome their animosity and search the city for Henry while he's being tortured by Javier.

Terri Fullton, a modeling agent, comes into Vicki's office needing help finding one of her clients. He was a young, good looking kid who liked to party, but he was also pretty responsible, which is what's concerning Terri. That and the fact that she lent him six grand before he went missing. In the course of their conversation, Vicki finds out that it was Mike who sent Terri to her office.

When the body of late pro boxer, Diesel Swanson, goes missing from a funeral home, Vicki is called in by the funeral director, Boris Ulyanov, to investigate. What he shows her is surveillance footage of the preparation room as Diesel Swanson's body gets up and walks out with the help of a Necromancer.

Vicki goes undercover, as a hopeful mother-to-be, in a fertility clinic whose unusual success rate is due to the actions of a Swartalfen, an evil German elf who impregnates women with children destined to be evil.

Camille Stokes, a woman who claims to be psychic, comes into Vicki's office warning of great danger. She had a vision of someone gathering three very powerful objects: a chalice, a dagger and a grimoire. They're trying to start a new pentagram with a fresh set of corpses, and to make matters worse, they're hunting Vicki.

Vicki arrives at her office to find her old cop friend Paul Deeds waiting for her. He's working undercover, infiltrating a bike gang, and needs Vicki's help in solving a homicide. When Vicki asks who died, Paul says, "I did," as he walks straight through the wall into her office. Paul doesn't remember anything about his death and wants to find his body as well as know why he's a ghost.

A were-cat seeking revenge against the hunter that murdered her brother plays a dangerous cat and mouse game with Mike, who's determined to prove her guilt.

We come in on Vicki and Henry as they make their way through a hotel lobby with Keller, a client who has hired Vicki to help him track down an antique piece that's been stolen from him. As they walk through the halls, Henry becomes aware of a dark, evil energy. And that's when Vicki's demon marks begin to glow red hot and the world flashes to white...

Coreen brings Lexia Chang, a friend from the local Goth scene, in to see Vicki. A young Goth, Gene, was found dead outside her club, the Underground, and she's afraid it might be the end of her club, a booze-can that has already had its share of trouble with the city.

Henry's old flame, Christina, is back and in need of his help. But as they fight off their urges to kill each other, Vicki wonders if Christina is there with ulterior motives.

Henry brings Maya, an old friend of his, in to see Vicki. Maya's boyfriend, Jude, has disappeared right before the opening of his new show, "Dark Destinies", a show in Henry has a piece. Vicki agrees to help and as she gets involved in the local art scene, what she finds in Maya is a flighty, bossy, unfaithful girlfriend who looks like the most likely suspect in Jude's disappearance.

Henry awakes from a dream in which he comes face to face with an Incan priest, who warns of Henry's death. The sun then comes up and Henry is burned. However, the worst aspect is not the content of the dream, but the fact that he was dreaming in the first place. As he explains to Vicki, vampires don't dream, but they can sense when it is their time to die and he fears that this may be his.

Vicki is called in to the prison visiting room at the request of Charles Perkins, a convicted murderer known as "the Headhunter". Vicki and Mike were instrumental in putting him away four years ago, but now Charles is claiming his innocence. He's psychic and the he wrongfully confessed to the murder because he was confusing his psychic visions with reality.

Vicki is visited by a young client, Lee, a fifteen year old boy with a strange problem. He's reincarnated and needs help finding his wife, who he's spent many lifetimes with, but has been unable to find in this one. They have a tree that they use as a guidepost and in each life they find it, carve their initials and set a date to meet up. But the tree is now a strip mall and he lost his way.

Concerned for Vicki's well-being, Coreen heads to her psychic, Madame Andrea, for some advice. But what Coreen doesn't know is that Madame Andrea is a conduit for Astaroth and as she takes her hands, Astaroth comes through and makes his way into Coreen's body. As the possessed Coreen goes on a rampage throughout the city, Vicki, Henry and Mike go after her.
