Every year Eddie proposes to Lillie on her birthday, and every year she turns him down. Their children are conflicted about the wedding. Clint has just met Abbey, who he expects to charm into bed and never call again. However, she catches him off-guard when she sees right through him. Could she be the woman to change his playboy ways?

Everyone knows Babs and Dickie have great sex, but today is break-up day. Clint, obsessing about Abbey, asks the others for advice. Lillie suggests a dinner party. Can Clint learn to cook, change his image and lifelong habits, and convince Babs and Dickie to pretend to be happy, all in one day?

On the day of Lillie's tribunal, the shelter will have to fire her to avoid an expensive legal battle. It is his wedding anniversary, and Dickie is not taking it well because he believes this time the break-up might be for real. A frustrated Clint takes Dickie out to earn good-deed points. However, 'old Clint' reappears when he meets a beautiful Brazilian cage-dancer.

Lillie agrees to spend the day in the hospital to have some tests, while Clint realizes for the first time in his life, he is in love. Constant interruptions keep Dickie from being alone and lonely in his trailer. Babs remembers good times and decides to visit Dickie, only to be confronted with something she does not want to see.

Now that time is precious, Lillie sells her premium bonds to pay for the wedding. The reality of the 'Millennium Community Centre' hits home for Eddie. Babs melts down over her inability to speak in public, Dickie finds an innovative way to decorate the Winnie, Harry proves to Gina that Eros is not good enough for her, and Clint is haunted once again by the Brazilian cage-dancer.

Babs and Gina move into Lillie and Eddie's house with the McCabe family and begin the journey of forming a new, strange, and very modern family unit. Meanwhile, Dickie and Babs grow further apart, while Clint and Abbey struggle to keep their relationship on the path of true love.
