Narrow Escapes

We meet Carrie, a young woman from Doncaster who is moving from a 3-bedroomed house onto a narrowboat called Mabel, which she plans to redecorate from her permanent mooring in a marina. We join father and son team Paul and Chris in Derbyshire, as they run their floating pizzeria, The Waltzing Matilda, travelling the canals of the Peak district.

Emma continues her travels and tackles one of the 7 Wonders of the Waterways, The Anderton Boat Lift in Cheshire, but her boat is experiencing engine trouble and then springs a leak, which threatens to halt her epic solo adventure.

Emma and The Dawn Piper head towards the climax of their adventure - crossing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, but will her engine hold out long enough for her to realise her dream? Carrie takes Mabel on a cruise, and mum Della has a surprising announcement. And we meet married couple Paul and Anthony, experienced boaters who are upgrading to a new eco boat.

We meet a family of four on board Chugabug as they continuously cruise the network. Gary, Nikki, Noah and Lily love the freedom of being on the move as they home-school from their narrowboat. The family enjoy a nature walk, picnic, get busy in the kitchen and Noah chats to a class of children from the USA.

Paul and Anthony take a final cruise on their old boat Morning Star and have a helping hand with their big move to the new boat. Noah celebrates his birthday at Middleton Railway and the family take a hike to Malham Cove, and Carrie puts the finishing touches to Mabel. At the Horse-drawn boats in Llangollen there's a birthday party booked onto the boat.

We meet Vic, Jo and baby William who run Holly The Café Boat, as they cruise the Peak District looking for the perfect place to open for the season, Comedian Joel completes a gig in London and then sets off to unknown territory in the Midlands to try and complete his quest for a second gig, but first gets a visit from the "pump out boat" and we meet online yoga instructor May on the Oxford Canal.

May cruises to the boating facilities and attempts to finish her rooftop decking, Joel continues his quest north to unknown waters, deciding the location for his Midlands gig and beginning the sales promotion, Jo has some baking to do for the opening of the Spring season and continues to prepare her cookbook draft for the publisher and Vic has to get on his bike and go in search of milk.

Joel finally completes his mission and arrives in Coventry, and with some help from student Daniel, he promotes and performs his gig in Coventry, but will it be a success? Jo trials some new recipes for her cookbook on the towpath and we meet Joe and Rachel who have their work cut out renovating their new home, narrowboat Windfish, and the move starts with a bang.

Bird-loving retired couple Nigel and Diane visit Pennington Flash nature reserve on the Leeds Liverpool Canal and get a bit competitive. Vic, Jo and William cruise to find the perfect location for the cookbook launch in the Peak District and renovations continue for Joe and Rachel on the Oxford Canal. Taz tells us about the CRT mindful walks he runs along the towpath in Birmingham.

Nigel and Diane are on their way to the Standedge Tunnel, one of the 7 wonders of the waterways, when they get unexpected news which alters their plans. Rachel and Joe build a new kitchen for Windfish and It's the big cookbook launch day for Vic and Jo.

Nick and Gina are on the Leeds Liverpool Canal racing to get their hotel boat, the Lady Teal, ready for their guests' imminent arrival.

Swan boat builders in Liverpool continue work on Kevin and Tina's boat, but when a drama threatens to derail plans to deliver it at the Crick boat show, the couple question if they will have it ready in time. The Lady Teal heads towards The Bingley Five Rise, a wonder of the waterways and Sam takes a break from bike building to do some cooking.

Floating Bike Shop owner Sam shows his creative side, we meet Wes and Amy and their pets on the Kennet and Avon Canal as they cruise looking for somewhere with enough wifi signal to moor up, as their gaming and live-streaming jobs, depend on it. The Lady Teal and guests travel up the Bingley Five Rise, one of the 7 wonders of the waterways.

We meet Steve and Chris heading north to Chester to help plan their daughter's wedding, but first they need to arrange a shopping delivery to a nearby bridge on the Coventry Canal.

Amy and Wes continue their journey into the Capital and join an organised group taking narrowboats onto the tidal Thames and under Tower Bridge, but will Wes' nerves and narrowboat Gregory's Girl cope? Sam sets up the bikeshop on the towpath, hoping some of his restored project bikes will sell and Steve and Chris finally arrive home to Chester.

We meet florist Roka, whose waiting for her tulip bulbs to appear on the roof of her boat Leafy Lady. Maried couple Tracey and Tim, and their assistance dogs Lokie and Ozzie, open their doggy treat business on the towpath for the first time this season, and need to collect some parcels.

Training continues for Tracey and Tim's assistance dog Ozzie, and the couple head towards Little Venice in London to launch their Accessible Waterways badge scheme. Jack and Gabby say goodbye to narrowboat Flora, and Roka takes her tulips to market. We are with the Pirate Castle in Camden as they provide access to the waterways for the local community.

Tracey and Tim launch their accessible waterways scheme at the Little Venice cavalcade, Jack and Gabby take a break from the DIY to have an alfresco lunch, and we meet Peter and Noni as they cruise on Barbarella through some unexpected weather on their way through Foxton Locks, one of the 7 wonders of the Waterways. Some familiar faces visit the Pirate Castle.

Peter and Noni make a long-awaited trip to the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Jack and Gabby struggle to put in their new chimney on the Oxford Canal, and we meet theatre worker Ed whose boat Womble is being surveyed and getting its triannual hull blacking. The Pirate Castle prepare for the arrival of some special guests.

Jack and Gabby take their new boat for its first cruise and share a surprise announcement that changes their plans, Ed invites some friends round for a rooftop party and its a chance to show off his culinary skills in the galley, and Peter and Noni take their narrowboat Barbarella across the sea! Children from a local hospice take a ride through London on the Pirate Castle's narrowboat.
