In 1941, almost 1200 civilian men ventured across the Pacific to Wake Island to build a U.S. Navy base. Hours after Pearl Harbor was bombed, Wake was attacked. The men of Wake Island were thrust into World War 2. These men along with a contingent of U.S. Marines endured 16 days of Japanese attacks. This is their story. Told by the men who were on Wake.
