Stacey "bunks in" with Carter, Stuart, and Rags while her apartment is being fumigated. Paul has his hands complete with a challenging new reporter on the City Hall beat. A misstatement by the Mayor leads Mike to become a reluctant organ donor.

Mayor Winston's ex-wife appears in a television ad supporting the Mayor's opponent in the upcoming election. Mike tries to bribe the Mayor and his father into pretending to get along.

A disillusioned city councilman decides to "ditch" his job and become a real-life superhero known as Captain New York. Mike fixes Stacey up with Pete to get Pete's vote for the Mayor's budget bill. Stuart tries to split from his "psycho" girlfriend.

Carter's neighbors discover that Lloyd and Alfred are gay. Stuart decides not to celebrate Christmas with Carter, thinking they might appear to be a "couple," but spending the holiday with him.

A taxi strike could put "the brakes" on Mike's plot to break up Nikki's relationship with Arthur. Stuart ropes the married Paul into double-dating. Mitsy begins pursuing Paul as if he's single, and she's his "date".

Mike dons a "fat suit" to get "the skinny" on being an overweight person in New York. The Mayor's Annual Bachelor Auction is coming up. The Mayor hopes to catch the eye of reporter Nina Lawrence, and they ended having dinner together.

James, Carter and Stacey team up to crank out the Mayor's speech for the Gay Pride parade. Mike proves his loyalty to the Mayor by stepping in when a hot dog vendor throws one at Winston. Arthur proposes to Nikki dressed as a clown.

Mike and Nikki begin dating but don't tell their colleagues they're a couple. Mike's office phone number is used as a "psychic hotline" by Stacey, who pretends to be a psychic for Stacey's boss, James, Stuart, and Carter.

Stuart's ex-girlfriend Deirdre files sexual harassment charges against him. Mike and Nikki try to cool their ardor at the office. Janelle gives Winston waltzing lessons for an upcoming reception. James is attracted to Stacey's Aunt Marie.

Paul knocks Rags out by mistake, then covers himself up to make it look like Carter accidentally killed the dog. Owen resigns from the Millennium Project, but as he's on his way out, he touches Rags, who then mysteriously comes back to life.

The Mayor blurts out that he's dating Janelle, who's black, and Carter "outs" his boxer boyfriend. Nikki's tired of hiding her office affair with Mike, so she urges him to tell the staff.

Mike and his office staff look back at moments in their lives that movies have inspired. The office is about to go home to watch the Oscars when they realize they got the wrong envelopes.

Paul admits he's unable to get Claudia pregnant. James struggles to find peace to finish his magazine article, but there's no peace for Mike after Paul asks him to be a sperm donor.

The Mayor tries to make up for ignoring James' efforts to start a City Hall newsletter. Carter is fed up with Stuart and Bennet's friendship, so he decides to fight "fire with fire".

Carter and Mike are jealous of their affair's attention, and James cracks under the strain of being sworn to secrecy about Nikki and Mike's secret romance.

Mike's concern for James' money management prompts him to meet with his stockbroker. After hearing about www.barky.com, James assumes he's become a millionaire and goes on a spending spree.

Mike's relationship with Nikki is tested when supermodel Heidi Klum comes back. Mike tells Heidi he loves Nikki and wants to make it work with her. James struggles to get the Mayor to dump the lame jokes from his public appearances.
