Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

An Upper Rank Demon has been defeated for the first time in a hundred years by Uzui, Tanjiro and his comrades' effort. This news causes a ripple effect not only among the members of the Demon Slayer Corps, but also the Upper Rank Demons, who have been summoned by Muzan Kibutsuji.

Tanjiro encounters Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Kotetsu, a boy from the village, arguing. Muichiro is demanding that a "certain key" be handed over to him from Kotetsu. Being unable to look on in silence, Tanjiro intervenes to speak on behalf of Kotetsu, however Muichiro refuses to listen.

Yoriichi Type Zero is destroyed at the end of Tanjiro's training, but a sword from over 300 years ago appears from inside. Kotetsu gives Tanjiro the sword, however it is badly rusted. At that moment, Haganezuka appears and takes the sword with him to perform a grueling whetting process handed down within his family line. Meanwhile the presence of demons are inching closer to the village...

Muichiro rescues Kotetsu who was being attacked by a goldfish demon. He tries to rush to the village where crisis is looming, however is asked by Kotetsu to rescue Haganezuka and Kanamori, so he begins heading their way instead. Meanwhile, Tanjiro, Nezuko and Genya are facing off against the demons who have split into four separate bodies.

Upon arriving to the village, Mitsuri rushes to the chief of the village, Tecchin, and finds that all of his guards have been defeated and he himself is in a life-or-death situation. Muichiro is being guided by Kanamori, whom he rescued along the way, to the studio to receive his sword. However, Upper Five Gyokko is waiting in front of the studio, where Haganezuka is also working...

Muichiro is driven into a corner as he is trapped in water by Gyokko's Blood Demon Art amidst their battle. Meanwhile, Tanjiro and his comrades have successfully severed the necks of the four demons, but seeing that they haven't turned to dust, they realize that they cannot be defeated just by having their necks severed simultaneously.

As Tanjiro was just about to sever the neck of the fifth demon, another demon approaches from behind him. This demon turns out to be Zohakuten, a demon created by combining all four Emotion Demons into one body, marked with the word "Hatred." Tanjiro makes a narrow escape from the attack and fails to sever the neck of the fifth demon.

With Kotetsu's help, Muichiro finally manages to escape from Gyokko's Blood Demon Art, but he is close to reaching his limit with all of the damage he has sustained. As the goldfish demons draw closer to the battered Muichiro and Kotetsu, Muichiro's memory is awakened the very moment the demons attack.

After defeating the goldfish demons, Muichiro heads to the studio where Haganezuka and Kanamori are. There, in order to disrupt Haganezuka's focus on whetting the sword, Gyokko was attempting to take Kanamori for hostage. Muichiro arrives in the nick of time, receives the Nichirin Sword from Kanamori, and challenges Gyokko once again...

After rescuing Tanjiro who was swallowed by one of the tree dragons, Mitsuri now faces off against Zohakuten in order to save Nezuko and Genya. Mitsuri skillfully fends off the fierce attacks from the tree dragons, but she is struck with a powerful attack from Zohakuten and loses consciousness right before she is able to land a decisive blow.

As Mitsuri holds off Zohakuten, Tanjiro, Nezuko and Genya use this time to chase after Hantengu's main body. The three manage to find the tree ball that Hantengu is hiding in, but when they slice it open, they find that it is completely empty. Hantengu makes a run for it again, and Tanjiro and the others continue chasing him.
