Penny Dreadful

London 1891. As the police investigate gruesome murders, renowned explorer Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) and the strangely beautiful Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) know there’s something darker at play. In search of someone close to them who has been lost, they recruit American sharp-shooter Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) and Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) to help them on their journey

In pursuit of answers, Vanessa (Eva Green) and Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) attend a party at the home of Egyptologist Sir Ferdinand Lyle, where they encounter the mysteriously beautiful Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney). The party takes a turn, however, when renowned medium Madame Kali (guest star Helen McCrory) hosts a séance. Meanwhile, Ethan (Josh Hartnett) befriends Brona Croft, an Irish immigrant.

Dr. Frankenstein (HARRY TREADAWAY) is confronted by the consequences of his past. Vanessa (EVA GREEN) has a vision of Mina (OLIVIA LLEWELLYN) which leads her, Sir Malcolm (TIMOTHY DALTON), Ethan (JOSH HARTNETT) and Sembene (DANNY SAPANI) to the London Zoo where they discover and capture Fenton (OLLY ALEXANDER) – servant to a vampire master.

Vanessa’s (EVA GREEN) infatuation with Dorian Gray (REEVE CARNEY) continues to grow. Professor Abraham Van Helsing (DAVID WARNER) is hired by Sir Malcolm (TIMOTHY DALTON) to work with Dr. Frankenstein (HARRY TREADAWAY) to uncover a cure to the disease that might be affecting his daughter. Fenton (OLLY ALEXANDER) draws his master to Sir Malcolm’s mansion.

Vanessa (EVA GREEN) recalls her past and the events which ultimately lead to Mina’s (OLIVIA LLEWELLYN) disappearance.

Vanessa’s (EVA GREEN) latest vision leads Sir Malcolm (TIMOTHY DALTON), Ethan (JOSH HARTNETT) and Sembene (DANNY SAPANI) to explore a plague ship in search of Mina (OLIVIA LLEWELLYN). Professor Abraham Van Helsing (DAVID WARNER) reveals to Dr. Frankenstein (HARRY TREADAWAY) more details about the creature that has taken Mina. Vanessa’s night with Dorian (REEVE CARNEY) unlocks something within her.

Over the course of four harrowing weeks, Sir Malcolm (TIMOTHY DALTON), Ethan (JOSH HARTNETT), Dr. Frankenstein (HARRY TREADAWAY) and Sembene (DANNY SAPANI) do everything they can to save Vanessa (EVA GREEN) from the demons within her.

After having a vision of the Grand Guignol theater, Vanessa (EVA GREEN), Sir Malcolm (TIMOTHY DALTON), Ethan (JOSH HARTNETT), Dr. Frankenstein (HARRY TREADAWAY) and Sembene (DANNY SAPANI) explore the empty theater and are confronted by their worst nightmares.
