As the Arctic Circle's short summer nears its end, the villagers begin their preparations for another winter on the trapline.

As the families settle in to their fall routines in preparation for winter's trapping season, several visitors make their way out to the cabins. Heimo and Edna roll out the red carpet for their youngest daughter and new grandson.

The families are finally back home on the refuge. Heimo and his youngest daughter hunt for caribou. The Seldens have helpful visitors and an exciting announcement. Bob arrives back at his cabin.

As the seasons turn, the families are gearing up for trapping season. Heimo's newest cabin may have already fallen victim to a marauding bear. Tyler and Ashley are building a new home for their growing family.

With winter fast approaching, the families set out to hunt moose. Heimo and Edna team up together. Tyler draws on gut instinct to stalk an elusive bull. Charlie soon discovers why the area is called "Starvation Country."
