Christmas 1944. Soviet soldiers invade Hungary and drag every young woman with German origins away from their villages and transport them to one of the most brutal Soviet labour camps. One of the women, Irén, meets Rajmund who teaches her how to survive this hell on earth. She is determined to stay strong and one day return home to her daughter and family. But a different fate awaits her.
