In the 5th century, King Arthur is filled with doubt. His marriage to Guenièvre no longer satisfies him, the quest for the Grail is at a standstill, and his knights are dispersing. Léodagan opposes the king's ideas, Merlin loses his powers, and Lancelot drifts away. Rebellion brews, and the Roman army withdraws. In the forest, Arthur senses a mysterious presence.
