School starts tomorrow and Anne, Nick and Shania are doing test runs of a rocket messenger system so that they can stay in touch during the school day. Unfortunately, one of their rocket attempts accidentally collides with a pigeon. As Shania and her Grandma nurse the pigeon, Anne and Nick realize that they need something smarter and more adaptable than a rocket to be able to carry messages.

It's the first day of school and Nick is nervous about making new friends, luckily he meets a girl named Charlie who shares his love of science. Meanwhile, Pidgely is on his first "Harrier Pigeon" mission to deliver a message to Nick and Shania from Anne.

Anne, Nick and Shania are babysitting Shania's little brothers for Grandma. Meanwhile, Pal discovers that Meow Cat has had kittens.

Nick and his Dad do a father/son engineering challenge every year at Zack's Dad's welding shop. This year the challenge is to make the fastest miniature vehicle without wheels or wings. Nick is super pumped until his Dad bails. Fortunately, Anne lets him borrow her Dad for the challenge.

Anne gets an assignment from school that instructs her to "get closer to one of her dreams." Anne's not sure what it means but Nick and Shania help her decipher it and figure out that one of her dreams is to make contact with alien life. To help Anne get closer to that dream, they decide to send one of the androids into space.

Zack builds a basketball-playing robot and needs Anne's help to make it work. When Zack comes to the junkyard before he shows it to Nick, Nick is jealous and challenges the robot to a game of one-on-one.

Shania decides to take her family dog, Cyrus, to the junkyard so Anne can do some experiments on dog DNA. When Shania asks Pal to watch Cyrus, Pal loses the dog. Using DNA, Anne, Nick and Shania try to find Pal before Grandma gets home and discovers he's missing.

Nick is having a recurring bad dream about terrifying dinosaurs after watching a scary movie. Anne teaches him about the science of dreaming and gets him to try lucid dreaming in order to stop his nightmare from happening again. In the process, Nick's dream takes some interesting twists and turns featuring androids, dinosaurs and the girls acting like he's never seen them before.

Anne is experimenting with turning carbon dioxide into dry ice but, when Pidgely accidentally wastes all her carbon dioxide, she's out of luck. Luckily, she, Nick and Shania get invited to Charlie's costume birthday party where there will be plenty of dry ice they can use. However, things get complicated when Pal wants to party too.

When Anne is doing an experiment on simple machines, Hand gets broken using a pulley system to lift two cars. It's a good thing Hand is easy to fix; all the kids need to do is find a replacement part. While searching, Shania and Nick fall into an old containment unit and get trapped. To get her friends out, Anne has to fix what was wrong with her pulley system in the first place.

The kids decide to make a sci-fi movie. But after Shania gets a bad mark on a project about volcanoes, Grandma threatens to ground her from the junkyard for a whole month. Anne and Nick abandon their sci-fi movie to help Shania with her project - the only problem is that Shania isn't as interested in it as they are.

A mysterious robotics scientist named Ada visits the junkyard and takes a special interest in Anne. Ada offers Anne a tour of her robotics lab, use of her 3D printer and the chance of a lifetime to attend a robotics school in New York. Anne must decide if she's ready to leave the junkyard - and her friends - for this golden opportunity.

Nick's Dad has to cancel on a weekend tobogganing trip because he has to work. Nick is upset both because his Dad bailed and because there's no snow in his new town yet. Anne and Shania decide to make snow for Nick so he can still go tobogganing even if he can't do it with his Dad.
