Relationship problems plague the denizens of Mount Pleasant. Lisa is convinced that Dan will forget their tenth wedding anniversary, Shelley is cross with Greg for playing the slot machines again, and Denise tries her hand at dating after dumping Fergus.

Lisa's self-esteem takes a serious hit when her smock top is mistaken for a baby bump-especially when word that she’s expecting travels around the neighborhood. Meanwhile, Kate is troubled by news that her husband's death is being investigated.

As Dan recovers from his hernia operation, an increasingly frazzled Lisa has to run around after him. She takes great offense when Shelley neglects to ask after Dan’s health, but Shelley is distracted by her low bank balance and decides to confront Greg about his gambling.

Lisa's looking for trouble when she asks Dan to pick his favorite part of her body. Bianca throws a hot-tub party for Jack’s birthday, but tensions bubble over as much as the water does. Greg asks Dan to lend him some money to get him out of his financial straits, but it falls on deaf ears.

When Lisa catches Pauline shoplifting, Pauline confides that she has the onset of dementia. Lisa is devastated-as is Dan when he finds out that Lisa has offered Pauline a room while they nurse her through her troubles. Elsewhere, Greg thinks he's found a solution to his financial woes in loan shark Emma.

When Lisa and Dan’s home is robbed, they are devastated to discover that their wedding photograph has been taken. Meanwhile, Shelley is flattered when a recruiter fancies her, and Greg turns down Emma’s advances on him. Fergus demonstrates his knack for playing loose with the truth.

Barry and Sue prepare for their 40th anniversary, and Lisa tries but fails to keep up appearances. Jack wants to talk about their shared moment the week before, and Kate reveals to Dan what she witnessed. Elsewhere, Denise stays strong, and Greg receives yet more bad news.

Lisa and Dan struggle to keep up the pretense that they're still together, and Shelley's had enough of Greg's lies. When Dan goes to see Kate before the party, he has a moment of clarity.
