Recently retired, Al feels he's earned a rest, but his wife, Ruth, believes he should do something with his time besides watching TV. So Al starts a rock band with Dennis and their wives audition to be the "girl singers."

When their middle-aged son and his new wife move in with Al and Ruth, Al decides it's time to go back to work. The band gets its first gig, but it's not at all what their new bandmate and manager, Murray, led them to expect.

Al, Ruth, Dennis, and Carol talk their new neighbor, Tom, into running against Consuelo for HOA president. But, aided by Murray's scheming, she proves to be a formidable opponent.
