After Karen's father attacks Frank, a vengeful Steve kidnaps Frank and abandons him in France. While Frank gets in trouble with French authorities, a body is found at home. Meanwhile, Sheila finds a new man, and Fiona's relationship faces challenges.

Kev announces his marriage to Veronica to fend off advances, but he's already married and seeks help. Veronica's brother escapes prison, while Ian hides after rejecting Mandy, leading to more trouble.

Debbie Gallagher takes Jody from his birthday party and dresses him as a girl. With Frank's help, the Chatsworth residents search for him. The Gallaghers try to return Jody home without trouble.

Frank is having an affair with Karen, who is dating his son, Lip, while Frank is with Karen's mother, Sheila. Things spiral out of control when Steve finds out, and Lip finally realizes the affair when Karen dumps him, leading to a violent confrontation with Frank.

Bailiffs reclaim old debts from Frank, and, as usual, his children are forced to pay the price. To make matters worse, a housing officer with a personal vendetta is threatening to take the family home.

Monica and Norma are now in charge at the Gallagher household after Fiona moves in with Steve, but none of the Gallagher kids are happy about their mother’s return.
