Recluse Norma Boswell is reaching the end of her days. She hires carer, Emma Keating, the two eventually form a friendship and Emma becomes the only person who knows about her illness. When Norma's son returns from traveling abroad, Emma attempts to mend their friendship and tells Justin Norma's secret. As the news sinks in, they all begin to realize just how much they need one another.
