London's police is in need of an image makeover and Commissioner Richard Miller (James Nesbitt) has found just the woman to do it. A star of new media with a TED talk under her belt, ex-Instagram PR exec Liz Garvey (Brit Marling) has the vision and determination to shake things up in the largest and oldest police force in the world.

A riot breaks out at a youth prison, causing the private security firm that oversees the facility to seek assistance from police. American new media PR maven Liz uses this opportunity to publicize the force's opposition to the issue.

Liz presents her vision for Metwork: the force's own news channel that will rival established outlets and promote transparency, for better or worse. Determined to sabotage Liz, Finn sets out to kill her Metwork idea.

A bomb threat to the Thameside Convention Center sends all police units into motion. Richard confides in Liz that a journalist has a story ready to run that is infinitely more explosive for the force and its chief.

Liz faces incrimination over the nature of her relationship with Commissioner Miller. When intelligence points to the location of the bomber, Assistant Commissioner Sharon Franklin takes the reins on a search.

With tension mounting after the death in the nightclub shooting, Banjo, Warwick, Tony and Robbie corroborate their stories ahead of a police investigation. Liz finds an opportunity to propel a new candidate for the commissioner's seat.

With their suspension lifted the ARV boys return to duty. But when footage goes viral of Banjo (Andrew Brooke) venting his frustrations on a rubbish bin and Sharon Franklin (Nicola Walker) proposes to reopen the nightclub shooting investigation, it sparks industrial action by TSG and firearms units.
