The Ladies' Paradise (English Subitled)

The Ladies’ Paradise prepares to reopen in the midst of a swirl of negative press about Mori. Newly promoted to the advertising department, Teresa brainstorms ideas for the store’s opening event while also dealing with the emotional fallout of coming face-to-face with Mori’s ex-wife.

The advertising staff organizes a beauty contest among the Venuses for the opening of the Paradiso. Mori shows up at Mandelli’s funeral and attempts to make peace with Andreina, but she has other ideas. Meanwhile, Rose offers to buy out Jacobi’s shares in the store.

Business is poor at the store because of the Jacobi scandal, and the employees wonder who is in charge: Mori or Rose? Andreina tries to sway the Rockefeller company to open a new department store across from the Paradise, and Teresa makes an important decision.

The Ladies’ Paradise launches a home-delivery service even as Andreina continues her efforts to undermine the store. Driven by jealousy on each side, Vittorio and Mori clash violently, prompting Vittorio to join forces with Andreina. Teresa harbors doubts about Mori’s feelings for her.

Teresa’s parents break with her, but she decides to turn their dismissal into an opportunity. Mantovani searches for the daughter she gave up for adoption, and Andreina and Vittorio arrive at a turning point in their relationship.

At Mantovani’s suggestion, Anna returns to work at the Paradise as the accountant’s assistant. Vittorio is horrified to learn the full extent of Andreina’s scheme and the lengths to which she will go to get revenge on Mori.

Solely focused on his new business scheme, Mori neglects Teresa, who worries about his growing closeness with Rose. Andreina and Vittorio work together to publicize the Lancia Appia car, and Teresa’s efforts to help a poor young woman give her an idea for a sales promotion at the Paradise.

As Vittorio returns to the Paradise to work on the Lancia Appia presentation, everyone is pleased but Mori, who frets over his old rival’s intimacy with Teresa. Rose decides to exploit the tension between the men. Meanwhile, warehouse manager Corrado appears on a game show.

Mori announces his intention to open a menswear department, but finding tailors that offer products ready-made is not as easy as it seems. The Rockefeller deal is nearing completion, but Andreina discovers something about the countess’s past that makes her question her plans.

Mantovani begins interviewing applicants for the menswear department, to the salesgirls’ enthusiasm. With Teresa at the factory in Biella, overseeing the production of the men’s collection, and Mori in Milan, working with Rose on the Rockefeller deal, the couple feels the distance in more ways than just mileage.

“American Week” kicks off at the Ladies’ Paradise, and Vittorio has gone all out with the promotion. Mori and Rose are eager for Rockefeller’s arrival, hoping to entice him to collaborate on their expansion project. But then an unexpected person enters the store.

With all of Italy following the troubling political situation in Hungary, fearful of a new world conflict, no one is in the mood for carefree shopping. Teresa proposes setting the store up to receive donations of supplies for Hungary, and organizing the event brings her and Vittorio closer together.

Mori makes plans for a getaway weekend in Castelbuono with Teresa, but a business opportunity tempts him to go to Rome instead. A suspicious person cases the store, leading to a confrontation that endangers the employees.

When Mori learns of the robbery, he is beset with guilt about choosing work over being with Teresa, even as she questions whether Mori is really the man for her. Meanwhile, Quinto is confused in his own romantic relationships, and Andreina extends a loaded invitation to Vittorio.

In celebration of the Olympics, Vittorio organizes a fencing exhibition at the Ladies’ Paradise, but the event turns into another kind of duel between Vittorio and Mori. Andreina resents that Teresa is now working at Vittorio’s ad agency, and Mori receives shocking news from the police.

Mori is the prime suspect in Rose’s death, but he fears that admitting to the night he spent with his ex-wife will cost him Teresa’s love. When flood waters threaten Biella, Teresa and Vittorio race to save the factory with Mori hot on their heels, in violation of a police order.

With Teresa and Mori estranged, both face the Christmas holidays with sadness, even as many of their friends have happily paired off. To prove to Teresa that he has changed, Mori attempts to help the countess solve her problems with the palace.

Despite the tension between them, Teresa and Mori spend Christmas Eve with her parents, who seem to have finally accepted the sincerity of Mori’s feelings right as Teresa mistrusts his love. Meanwhile, Vittorio encounters his own difficulties with Andreina’s mother at the traditional Mandelli Christmas reception.

Searching for a way to disentangle himself from Jacobi, Mori finally confides in Teresa. The two look for a way to resolve the matter, and right when the situation seems hopeless, Teresa comes up with an idea. Vittorio struggles with his feelings for Andreina, while Anna receives a visit from the father of her child.

As New Year’s Eve approaches, Vittorio finally makes his feelings clear. The store prepares for its annual party, and Mori takes action to remove the threat hanging over his shop. But when the plan goes wrong, he must race to save the two things that matter most to him in the world.
