Valerie is haunted by nightmares about her father's suicide. David learns that his mother requires shock therapy to improve her chances of recovery. Brandon convinces Susan to go out with him.

Colin appeases Kelly by ending his affiliation with Claudia and taking a teaching job. A fortune teller sets up shop at the Peach Pit for Halloween. In spite of her questionable credibility, her presence has an impact on many couples.

An earthquake rocks the Los Angeles area. Brandon and Susan, in Palm Springs for a newspaper conference, get trapped in an elevator with a pregnant woman. Dylan asks Toni to marry him. Kelly is shaken by the news.

The guys kidnap Dylan for his bachelor party, boring him to death...yet saving his life. Meanwhile, the girls throw a much wilder time for bride-to-be Toni. Toni's father refuses to walk her down the aisle, so Bruno does the honor.

Ray files battery charges against Joe for their fight on Halloween night. Donna makes the Rose Court, and her mother reveals her reasons for not supporting her in the pageant. Brandon becomes depressed about Dylan's departure.

The gang decides to prepare the holiday meal together at the Walsh House, David invites his mother, Sheila to join them. Clare admits that she has fallen in love with Steve. Brandon and Kelly obviously still have lingering affection for each other.

Joe rejects a plea bargain and decides to go to trial. Donna testifies that Ray was physically harming her and Valerie gives beneficial testimony with her eyewitness account of the Palm Springs incident.

Donna befriends a young boy named Isiah when he is caught stealing a teddy bear. Kelly's sorority holds a "Casino Night" fundraiser at After Dark and Nat is concerned that it will trigger Brandon's old gambling habit.

Cindy Walsh surprises Brandon and comes to visit for Christmas. Her relationship with Jim is on the rocks and she is unsure about returning to Hong Kong. Brandon feels devastated and fears that his family is falling apart.

Kelly's father tells Kelly he plans a permanent move to Los Angeles but her mother and David both warn her not to get her hopes up. Steve organizes a Roger Corman film festival at the After Dark. The gang find out that Nat was once an actor.

Colin pulls Kelly into using cocaine and they become consumed by their habit. Valerie recognizes the symptoms but has difficulty convincing the rest of the gang. Susan reveals a part of her past that haunts her, and Joe's condition worsens.

Brandon convinces Susan to submit her editorial about a teenage girl named Nancy, who gets an abortion, for the Collegiate Press Club Awards. Kelly swears off the cocaine use but cannot resist temptation when Colin prepares a fancy dinner for her.

Valerie's devious friend, Ginger, returns to town and blackmails her with an audiocassette. After Clare and Donna find drugs in the apartment they confront Kelly. Brandon, Steve and Joe accept an invitation from Jonathan to go flying in biplanes.

David writes Valerie a special poem for Valentine's Day and she gives him a friendship bracelet. Joe is kicked off the football team because of his heart condition. Kelly and Colin's relationship gets tense as their cocaine stash is diminished.

Valerie has the Walsh house to herself since Steve, Brandon, Clare, Susan and David have gone on a ski trip, she invites Colin for dinner and they get amorous. David mopes around the lodge and gets set up with two different blonde girls named Mary.

Brandon and Susan go to San Diego and spend the weekend visiting her parents. Colin and Valerie's new relationship upsets both David and Kelly. Steve buys a new motorcycle and Clare is less than thrilled.

Valerie puts the club up as collateral to bail Colin out of jail. Kelly comes home from the rehab center. Clare and Susan try to help Nat and Joan recapture the magic of their past love affair.

Kelly invites Tara to move into the beach house until she can find permanent rooming after rehab. Clare and Donna reluctantly agree. Steve's fraternity throws a party at the Walsh house. Steve has to "baby-sit" his half-brothers, Ryan and Austin.

Kelly feels guilty about leaving Tara alone at the beach house while she goes out with Greg. Brandon, Steve and Joe, Susan, Clare and Donna go camping together. Colin's father visits his studio and Valerie tries to arrange a truce between them.
