The Fall

The staff of Belfast General fight to keep Spector alive when he is rushed into hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Elsewhere, Katie is desperate to help Paul when she learns of his arrest and injuries, and Gibson’s handling of the case is questioned.

Gibson and Burns are chastised for their handling of the case. Meanwhile, the press reveal that Spector is the arrested suspect in the Belfast Strangler case, and the medical team continue to fight for Spector’s life.

Having found Spector’s lock-up, Gibson reads through his journals, considering the possibility that there may be as many as nine more murders. Still recovering in the hospital, Spector seems to be suffering from long-term memory loss.

Despite Gibson’s warnings to her superiors, Spector’s wife and children are involved in a nearly tragic incident. Spector meets with his defense team before being moved from the hospital to a psychiatric clinic.

Spector opens up about his past to Dr Larson, while Spector’s legal team are determined that he will never stand trial. Gibson’s colleagues Anderson and Ferrington follow their lead in London linking Spector to an old murder case.

Now squarely in the frame for another murder, Spector recounts the night Susan Harper died to both his defense team and the police. After a shockingly violent incident, doubts surface about the veracity of Spector’s amnesia.
