The 2nd World War is one of the bloodiest wars in human history. It characterised the 20th century like no other conflict. The technological race between conflict partners created an arsenal of new weapons and catapulted humanity into the nuclear age. More than 20 million people lost their lives in this war, and even today the effects of this conflict continue.
