In 1972, an outstanding lineup played shoulder-to-shoulder at the Newport Jazz Festival in Rotterdam. These four masterful groups were the Cannonball Adderley Quintet, Jimmy Smith and his band, the Dave Brubeck Trio and the Charles Mingus Sextet.
