Typical family man Willie Tanner's peaceful life is disrupted when a bedraggled space creature--nicknamed ALF (Alien Life Form) by the Tanner children--crashes into the roof of his garage and takes up residence in the Tanners' suburban home.

When Willie and Kate leave ALF and Brian at home with a baby-sitter, nosey Mrs. Ochmonek, ALF can't resist having some fun with the nervous woman.

When Lucky, the Tanner family's cat, disappears, everyone is sure ALF has eaten him. To prove his innocence, ALF searches for Lucky and winds up in the local dog pound.

When ALF contacts the President of the United States to offer a solution to the nuclear arms race, the FBI hunts the furry little alien down.

On his 45th birthday, Willie reflects on the goals he set for himself 20 years ago and is saddened to realize he hasn't achieved any of them, so ALF encourages him to fulfill at least one--skydiving!

When Lynn wants a car, ALF sells parts from his spaceship to buy her a sparkling new Ferrari.

When Willie loses his patience with ALF during a family camping vacation, the little space alien takes off into the woods and is soon pursued by hunters.

ALF is looking forward to his first white Christmas--like the ones he's read about--but when he learns that it doesn't snow in Los Angeles and that the Tanners plan to have an artificial Christmas tree, he talks Willie into taking him to the snowy mountains to cut their own tree.

An unexpected visit by Kate's overbearing mother forces ALF to retreat into a cage in the garage--until he decides to confront her in person.

ALF's scripts are produced by his favorite daytime soap opera, but his ideas came from private conversations he overheard between Kate and her mother, Dorothy.

ALF gets swept away with the spirit of Valentine's Day and decides to play Cupid to Kate's mother, who has refused to date since her husband's death.

When ALF's unusual behavior becomes more than Willie can bear, he confides in his friend, Larry, a psychologist who conducts a role-reversal exercise with ALF and Willie.

ALF believes he witnessed a homicide at the next-door neighbors' house, and the Tanners are gripped by panic when ALF tells everyone he saw Trevor Ochmonek murder his wife, Raquel.

ALF gives Brian a special good-luck charm when Brian accepts the difficult role of an asparagus in an upcoming school pageant. Brian loses confidence after a classmate pokes fun at him, but with the "charm," he is more courageous. However, he forgets to take the trinket to the pageant, and ALF must step in to help Brian.

ALF develops a bad gambling habit but sees it as an opportunity to help the Tanners pay for their house. He runs up a huge debt with his bookie, Nick the Fish, however, and when Nick comes to collect, ALF panics.

ALF shares his special intergalactic knowledge with Brian, who gets into trouble when he tells his class there are 11 planets in our solar system.

The Tanners are plagued by a huge Melmacian cockroach that stowed away on ALF's spacecraft. When the bug is doused with spray, it grows even larger until ALF finally discovers a way to get rid of the uninvited guest.

ALF ruins the Tanner family's weekend vacation by stowing away on the airplane, but when the pilot gets sick, ALF must fly the plane.
