Blott on the Landscape

However much Lady Maud Lynchwood may insist, Sir Giles is more than reluctant to give her any children. She is desperate for an heir to her country estate and threatens Sir Giles with divorce. This triggers a manic chain of events, with many unforeseen and surprising consequences.

Appalled by the riot in Worford and under pressure from the Prime Minister, the ministry send a troubleshooter to conduct negotiations. Dundridge duly arrives to be faced with much more than he bargained for. Blott and Lady Maude are stepping up their campaign to save Cleene Gorge.

After his night at the golf club, Dundridge awakens to discover himself on a lonely country road. He is in his car but only wearing his underwear. He cannot remember anything that happened last night. But someone knows what happened, and worse yet, they have photographic evidence.

Dundridge is determined that the motorway will go through Cleene Gorge. Lady Maud is equally determined that it will not. With Blott's help, she plans a strategy. But first they need to open Sir Giles' safe, luckily Blott is just the man for this destructive job.

The peace and tranquility of Cleene Gorge is disturbed by the arrival of the bulldozers to start the construction of the motorway. Dynamiting begins to clear the route through the estate. Meanwhile, Blott plans some spectacular destruction of his own.

Blott's destructive night out has had no effect in stopping the motorway from going ahead. But Blott is a determined man and ultimately it only strengthens his resolve. He will not be beaten and he plans one final campaign to protect the estate.
