Kirstie's Homemade Home

Kirstie Allsopp is on a mission to transform her run-down country cottage into the ultimate homemade home - with everything either made in the UK, or made by her. Plus, she wants to prove to everyone at home that we can all get our hands on the good stuff, without having to import cheap and ubiquitous products from oversees.

This week she's renovating three bathrooms: a downstairs loo, a family shower-room with a seaside theme and a luxury 'movie-star' style main suite. For inspiration she gets a rare peek into the beautiful home of top interior designer Anouska Hempel. She also visits Burgh Island Hotel, one of Britain's finest art deco buildings, renowned for its glamorous 1930s bathrooms.

On tonight's programme she's taking on two rooms: a grown up sitting room and playroom for the children. For inspiration, she'll be nosing around the opulent Port Eliot, a grade 1 listed stately home where plastic ducks sit cheek by jowl with priceless Van Dykes and Soane murals cover entire walls.

On tonight's programme it's the turn of the five bedrooms. For inspiration, she'll be visiting the beautiful Cotswold home of fabric and wallpaper designer Vanessa Arbuthnott; a flat in Hove, East Sussex which the owners have refurbished using recycled and restored furniture.

On tonight's programme the house is nearly finished - so Kirstie has turned her attention to the garden and is getting ready for entertaining as she transforms her kitchen ready for a celebratory lunch to thank those who have helped her along the way. Looking for inspiration for her outside space Kirstie visits the garden of mosaic artist Candace Bahouth.
