Amane Fujimiya is a reserved high schooler who lives alone. The prettiest girl at the school Mahiru Shiina, also known as Angel, is his neighbor. Amane encountered Mahiru on a rainy day and lent her an umbrella. The next day, Mahiru came to look after Amane who had a cold. The two's life started to intertwine...

On the way home from school, Amane met Mahiru who had sprained her foot trying to save a cat. He treated her injury and carried her home. The next day, Mahiru showed up at his door with a meal box to thank him. Amane let slip that he wanted fresh food, and since then they started to have meals together. Mahiru’s cooking was delicious which Amane enjoyed a lot. They were just like newlyweds.

Amane's mother Shihoko suddenly came to visit him. Amane had to hide Mahiru in his room, but Shihoko saw her nonetheless. Shihoko believed Mahiru to be Amane's girlfriend, which shocked the two youngsters. She treated Mahiru nicely and called her by her first name. Mahiru was delighted about that. Seeing how happy she was, Amane whispered her first name. From then, the two are on first-name terms.

Itsuki and Chitose celebrated Christmas at Amane's place. They wonder about their relationship after knowing that Amane's neighbor is the Angel Mahiru. Chitose immediately became friends with her for her cuteness. The next day, Amane found that Mahiru had a fever and persuaded the stubborn girl to let him return the favor and look after her. Mahiru seemed relieved by his words.

On New Year's Eve, Amane and Mahiru counted down together to welcome the New Year. Amane let the tired Mahiru sleep in his bed. Seeing her so peaceful in her sleep, Amane's heart fluttered. Two days later, his parents came to greet the two, and they went to the shrine together. Amane saw Mahiru in a kimono and couldn't look away. And his handsome look also made Mahiru blush.

On Valentine's Day, Amane received hot chocolate from Mahiru after dinner. She was coy about the cause, but Amane still accepted it. Before revealing their feelings, Mahiru went back home. Before the spring holiday, Amane took in Itsuki who had run away from home after a fight with his father. When Chitose heard about it, she went to stay at Mahiru's house. A few days later, Amane saw Mahiru talking with her mother Sayo. She seemed haggard after that and Amane invited her into his house. On the sofa, Mahiru told him about her past with her parents while Amane held her hands.

In the new semester, Amane and Mahiru became classmates. At home, Mahiru is in charge of cooking, and Amane occasionally gives her gifts. They get along like a couple. But his attitude toward Mahiru was different at school. Mahiru is dissatisfied with how he treats Itsuki and Chitose differently. She thinks that they should be closer.

Amane felt comfortable but nervous, and then they accidentally fell asleep. Amane woke up to take her back home and was nervous entering her room for the first time.
