The Junior Division of the World Martial Arts Tournament begins, but it’s no match for the likes of Trunks and Goten.

Now 16 years old, Gohan embarks on his first day of high school. But blending in is almost impossible for a Saiyan, and it gets even tougher when a celebrity classmate gets suspicious of a certain blond man thwarting criminals around town.

Gohan asks Bulma to make him a disguise so that he can continue to fight crime in the city without being recognized. Wearing his new outfit, the defender of justice makes his grand debut in the city by helping Videl thwart a gang of criminals.

While Gohan tries to balance everyday life and his exploits as the Great Saiyaman, Videl becomes obsessed with unmasking the city’s new hero. Although he won’t reveal his identity, he steps in to help confront a hostage situation.

While rescuing his old playmate from a greedy circus manager, the Great Saiyaman accidentally reveals his true identity to Videl. The price for her silence is Gohan's entrance into the upcoming World Martial Arts Tournament.

Gohan tells everyone about the approaching tournament and Goku’s day-long return from Otherworld. While training with his brother, Goten reveals just how strong he’s already become. Meanwhile, Videl visits for a flying lesson and meets Chichi.

Gohan teaches Goten and Videl how to fly. Goku continues his training in Otherworld while Piccolo and Vegeta prepare themselves to face him in the tournament. Vegeta is stunned to learn that young Trunks and Goten can already turn Super Saiyan.

Gohan and the gang knuckle down on their individual training regimens in preparation for the World Martial Arts Tournament. When the day arrives, everyone gathers on the tournament grounds, where a father and son meet for the first time.

As the crowd enjoys the tournament’s opening ceremonies, a preliminary round determines the final 16 adult fighters who will compete in the ring. Meanwhile, the first round of the Junior Division competition is about to begin!

The battle between Trunks and Goten escalates as the two ramp up their attacks in front of a bewildered audience. The one who emerges as the victor is given a chance to fight Mr. Satan, but the former World Champion may hardly stand a chance.

Mr. Satan plays off his defeat at the hands of the Junior Division champion. While Goku and the gang have an all-out feast, Trunks and Goten plan to get into the Adult Division drawing. A mysterious stranger approaches Goku, keen to fight him.

The adult division rounds finally begin! Piccolo must put his skills to the test against a mysterious opponent—but not before Krillin steps into the ring.

Videl wastes no time getting serious with her oversized opponent, but his ability to recover from her attacks begins to take its toll. Will she be able to keep up the pace?

Spopovitch continues his savage assault on Videl, who refuses to admit defeat.

Goku returns with the senzu beans for Videl. Gohan begins his match with Kibito, but gets more than he bargained for when Spopovitch and his partner intervene.

Goku and the others join the Supreme Kai in his search for Yamu and Spopovitch. As they travel, Shin explains what the devious duo were after and warns them of an ancient evil known as Majin Buu.

The evil wizard Babidi gives his henchmen a rough homecoming before turning on our heroes. Was this their plan all along?

To find Babidi, Goku and the others will have to fight their way through various opponents waiting on his ship. Vegeta steps up to handle the first stage, but Babidi uses magic to give his opponent the upper hand.

Back at the World Martial Arts Tournament, the crowd is getting restless. With most of the Z Fighters disqualified, Mr. Satan calls for a battle royale between the five remaining combatants.

As Dabura meditates to bolster his power, Number 18 gives it all she’s got back at the World Martial Arts Tournament. She can’t read Mighty Mask’s sporadic movements, but she refuses to go down without a fight.

Dabura emerges to face Gohan in a one-on-one battle. With Mighty Mask defeated, only Mr. Satan stands between Number 18 and the tournament’s prize money. Good luck Mr. Satan!

As Gohan struggles against Dabura, Babidi senses dissent among the Saiyans and sees an opportunity to add another powerful soldier to his ranks.

Under Babidi’s control, Vegeta goes on a destructive rampage vowing that the carnage will continue until Goku agrees to face him in combat.
