By gunning down the leader of a mob takeover attempt, Mike Battaglia saves the D'Amico family empire and protects its standing in New York's underworld. For his loyalty, the padrino decrees that Mikebe treated as a "man of respect". Battaglia's wife, however, has greater ambitions for her husband and goads him onto a course that leads to a frenzy of betrayal, madness and death.
