Wei Wuxian, revived by Mo Xuanyu, helps the youth of the Gusu Lan Sect after failing to control him.

After Wei Wuxian left Mo Residence, he arrived at Dafan mountain. Then he encounters the Dancing God. While dealing with the Dancing God, he meets with two old friends.

We go back 16 years where Wei Wuxian is still part of the Yunmeng Jiang sect. He travels with the elder brother and sister of the clan, Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli. He encounters the very strict Lan Wanggji for the first time here.

While students were performing greetings, Wen Chao from Qishan Wen Sect along with Wen Ning and Wen Qing arrived at Gusu Lan Sect. A misunderstanding is caused. Luckily, no one was hurt. After that, Wei Wuxian met with Wen Ning.

Wei Wuxian gets punished for a mistake he made in the class. After a few days, Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng go together with Lan Sect to Caiyi Village to a solve water spirit problem.

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji uncover a dark secret that has been hidden within the Gusu Lan Sect for years, uncovering a dangerous truth and testing their loyalty and resolve to confront what lies behind the facade.

The fight between Wei Wuxian and Jin Zixuan causes the engagement between Jin Zixuan and Jiang Yanli to be called off, creating tensions between the families and changing the course of their destinies, leaving emotional and political consequences.

Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and Jiang Yanli leave the Gusu Lan Sect after the fight with Jin Zixuan. Wei Wuxian does not return home, he leaves a note and meets up with Lan Wangji. Together they search for more pieces of Silver Metal.

The three heroes sleep within the cave of the Dancing Goddess, but during the night she comes alive and they fight her off. Shortly after an army of ghost puppets arrive at the cave. Wen Qing works together with them to save the people.

Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji, and Jiang Cheng join Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan in capturing the culprit against Yueyang Cheng. They bring him to Qinghe Nie, where they are ordered to go to Qishan Wen. Wen Chao attacks Qinghe Nie, escalating the conflict.

Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng go back home. Meanwhile, Gusu Lan Sect was attacked by Wen Xu from Qishan Wen Sect. After a few days, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng left home and go to Qishan Wen Sect. There, they find out Lan Wangji is also there.

At the Qishan Wen Sect, Wei Wuxian faces numerous problems because of Wen Chao, but Wen Ning silently helps him. Meanwhile, he discovers that the Gusu Lan Sect has been destroyed by the Qishan Wen Sect, escalating his situation.

Wen Chao takes them to hunt beast which is in the Tu Lu Xuan Wu cave. A lot of things happened in there which leads to Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji have to spend some time in the cave.

After sleeping in the cave, Wei Ying and Lan Zahn come up with a plan to fight the elemental beast and gather arrows, rope and whatever they can find. Wen Zhao is instructed to find Xue Yang and the last piece of Yin metal.

A leader from a small clan arrives wounded at Lotus Pier. Wuxian and Cheng are left in charge while their father and sister look for a safer place to heal the clansman. In their absence Wang Lingjiao provokes Madam Yu into battle.

Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and Jiang Yanli are freed by Jiang Fengmian, who returns to save his wife. When Yunmeng Jiang returns, it is destroyed by the Qishan Wen Sect. The three brothers must rely on themselves to survive.

With Wen Ning's help, Wei Wuxian rescues Jiang Cheng and brings him to Yilin. There, he discovers Jiang Cheng's suffering and, determined to help him, Wei Wuxian searches for a solution to get his brother back on track.

While staying at Wen Qing's house, Wei Wuxian finds Song Lan unconscious and takes him to be treated. When Song Lan gets better, Wei Wuxian asks him to take Jiang Yanli to the Lanling Jin Sect and comes up with a plan to help Jiang Cheng.

While Jiang Cheng is going under the process of repairing the golden core, Wei Wuxian has been captured by Wen Chao. Then Wei Wuxian's been missing for three months. Meanwhile, Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng try to find out whereabouts of Wei Wuxian.

Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng team up to fight against the Qishan Wen Sect. Arriving at a place where Wen Chao and Wen Zhuliu are staying for the night, they discover the identity of the person responsible for the recent events.

With the comeback of Wei Wuxian, Yumeng Jiang Sect gets an extra on his side in the battle with Qishan Wen Sect. Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian has to fight his own demon himself.

The Yunmeng Jiang, Lanling Jin, Gusu Lan, and Qinghe Nie sects advance towards Qishan Wen with a plan. Nie Mingjue reunites with an old friend, and as the battle rages, Wei Wuxian controls Wen Ruohan's zombies to win.

Wei Wuxian controls Wen Ruohan's zombies, who seek him out to kill him. However, he is killed by someone unexpected. With Wen Ruohan's death, the battle concludes and the Wen family falls, celebrating a feast in the Wen sect.

After the banquet, Jin Guangshan searches for traces of the last silver metal. Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng return to Lotus Cove and begin a new chapter. As for Lan Wangji, he tries to find a way to help Wei Wuxian.
