Meteorite Men

In this episode, Geoff & Steve travel over 6,000 miles to eastern Poland in hopes of securing a piece of one of the most famous meteorite falls in history. On January 30, 1868 the quiet town of Pultusk, Poland was showered by storm of space rocks in one of the largest stony meteorite falls ever recorded. But the guys have their work cut out for them.

5,000 years ago, an enormous meteorite cascaded over Poland scarring the landscape with seven massive craters. For the first time, Geoff and Steve receive exclusive access to investigate the magnificent Morasko crater field. The guys employ the expertise of Dr. Andrzej Muszynski of Adam Mickiewicz University in order to navigate through the 136 acre nature preserve,

On this episode of Meteorite Men, Geoff and Steve make their epic return to northern Sweden in order to reclaim victory north of the Arctic Circle. Only the irresistible Muonionalusta irons could lure these guys back to the land of the midnight sun to endure swarms of mosquitoes, swampy terrain, and a unique array of meteor-wrongs.

The Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Red Square, and of course, shots of vodka... for the first time, Geoff and Steve make the journey to Russia in search of one of the most rare and valuable meteorites on the planet: the Dronino ataxite. To help them along the way, the guys team up with two of the best meteorite hunters in all of Russia.

On February 12, 1875 the legendary "detonating space rock" hurled through the air and exploded six times over the farm fields of Iowa. Thousands of fragments were recovered, but a new Homestead meteorite hasn't been found in almost 150 years. Not dissuaded, the guys pull out all of the stops in search of a prized Homestead chondrite.

Widespread publicity of the recently discovered Whitecourt Crater has lured illegal meteorite hunters. These trespassers are poaching countless space rocks before scientists have a chance to study them. Dr. Chris Herd of the University of Alberta and his band of meteorite hunters team up with the Meteorite Men in a race to survey the crater site

Geoff and Steve venture to one of the country's meteorite capitals: Arizona, home of over 93 different space rocks. To better understand this phenomenon, the guys investigate the Mecca of meteorites, Franconia. Franconia houses at least three different meteorites of both iron and stony varieties.

A rock collector has found a brand new meteorite in his backyard near Sahuarita, Arizona. But cold finds offer new challenges. Geoff and Steve are hunting blind for an unknown, unclassified meteorite and without a strewn field map. They can use all they help they can get. For the first time, Dr. Laurence Garvie from Arizona State University leaves his lab to join the guys in the field.
