In the year 50 BC, Roman legions of Julius Caesar conquered the land of great Brittany, with the exception of one village. Known for their bravery, the Bretons gave their best efforts not to give in to Caesar's forceful army. However, weakened and not knowing how to defeat the enemy, the village asks Asterix for help. With the assistance of the druid Panoramix, Asterix makes a magic potion.
